Recent Projects
Our work is wide and varied, from connecting talent in education and arranging cultural and educational tours, through to facilitating sponsorship for sports teams and national competitions. We have highlighted below some of our most recent projects.
Internships for students
For two years we organised month-long internships for university law students from the UK. They spent time in Botswana working in multi-national businesses, so as to be able to understand how these businesses operate in developing countries. They have also spent time in local schools and communities carrying out voluntary work.
National academic competitions
We have organised a national case study competition across Zambia and Botswana, which was supported by the leading global risk management company, Aon. Over 200 students took part and the competition culminated in a public debate with members of the judging panels coming from industry, media and academia. The competition was a huge success with internships being offered by Aon to the winning teams in each country. iPads and book vouchers were also given away as prizes and each team had 1:1 consultations with a university professor to help them prepare their submissions.
Sports, education and cultural tours for schools
We organised and facilitated a tour to the UK by Livingstone Kolobeng College from Botswana. They visited leading UK universities for taster lectures, spent time with local families, visited tourist sites and the UK parliament and played three matches of rugby against schools and clubs in Wales.
Development projects
In partnership with the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office and Doughty Street Chambers, London, we facilitated a legal outreach project to promote the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta. This included lectures to law students at universities and schoolchildren studying relevant subjects at IGCSE and A-Level.
